YESTERDAY'S
TOMORROW
It is the
present day. The dawn of a new century and a new millennia. It
is the dawn of a thousand million atomic suns burning in the factories,
the cars and the homes of America. This is the present day, but
not as we know it. It is the future of yesteryear, a future of
gleaming chrome machines, soaring skyscrapers and nuclear utopia.
But, utopia
comes with a price, a price which every American man, woman and
child must pay. Beneath the chrome veneer lies a darker reality.
The government is an entity utterly bloated with corruption, dancing
to the tune of another - the unseen masters of the country, the
Avarant. The oppressive regime has sealed America off from the
outside world, zealously enforcing its paranoid laws whilst blithely
broadcasting its messages of propaganda. Few dare to oppose these
tyrants, for the Avarant sees all, hears all and knows all, and
people vanish unnoticed into the shadows with an alarming regularity.
This is now.
This is the new millennium. This is Yesterday's Tomorrow.
Yesterday's
Tomorrow is an alternate now, a present day where democracy has
been crushed under the heel of an oppressive Government who control
American life with an iron grip. It is a world where a person's
credit rating determines everything from their job to their family
to their very existence. It is a time where the gleaming optimism
of the past has lead to the mastery of the atom and the creation
of weird and wonderful technologies. It is a setting in which
mysteries abound and conspiracies envelop all, a setting in which
heroes can rise to make a stand against the terrible forces of
the Avarant and free America from their insidious grasp. Adventures
can be found around every corner and within every shadow - whether
by a grizzled Custodian investigating the corruption from within,
a naive young Programmer who catches a glimpse of the real masters
of the country or a valiant freedom fighter seeking to bring down
the Government from without.
Yesterday's
Tomorrow will be available in all good games stores as a 128 page
softcover book, and will contain complete background on life and
society in the America of Yesterday's Tomorrow, details on the
machinations of the corrupted Government and its shadowy masters,
the Avarant, and a comprehensive section on the atomic powered
technology.
Yesterday's
Tomorrow is powered by the innovative Steam system, a fast, elegant
and easy to learn set of rules which allow great depth and detail
without compromising speed or simplicity.
Yesterday's
Tomorrow is written by Andrew Kenrick and is coming soon from
